On July 5th, 2012, “Foshan University Materials Science and Engineering College Stone Processing Teaching Practice Base” was established and listed in Xipan Village, Chihu Town. This is the only stone processing teaching practice base established by the province. The practice base provides a platform for learning and practice for students of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Fuzhou University, and provides more expert technical services and project support for rural stone processing and production, achieving a win-win situation in which colleges and universities share resources and complement each other. Further promote the application of rural science and technology and optimize the processing and production of stone. Chihu Town, Zhangpu County is rich in granite stone resources. It is one of the main stone plate processing sites in southern Anhui. It has nearly 70 stone plate processing enterprises with an annual output value of more than 200 million yuan. The finished products are sold well throughout the country and even in Western Europe. Xipan Village is famous for its rich stone. However, in recent years, the stone market is not good, and the quality and sales volume of stone have been declining. After understanding this situation, Xipan Village Student Village Officer Lu Zhenhe, in combination with his material science and engineering expertise, has repeatedly discussed with his alma mater, Fuzhou University School of Materials Science and Engineering. Through the continuous negotiation and contact of the village student Lu Zhenhe for more than four months, the School of Materials Science and Engineering and Xipan Village finally reached a consensus and decided to establish the first teaching and practice base for stone processing in Fujian Province in Xipan Village. On the same day, Lu Jie, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Fuzhou University, awarded the plaque for Xipan Village. The members of the two committees of Xipan Village, the university student village Lu Zhenhe and the students of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Fuzhou University participated in the awarding ceremony.
